Pricing
$125 for up to a 2 hour visit (minimum). $60 for each additional hour (tax not included).
Jobs over 5 hours are priced at a flat rate depending on the scope of work.
Service Area
I service most communities in the city of Ottawa. The service boundary is roughly:
- 417 to the North (with support north of the highway for Westboro, Carlingwood, and Britannia)
- Greenbank to the West
- Hunt Club to the South
- 417 to the East
+ Barrhaven and Riverside South (not depicted on the map)
Why Seniors Work With Me
- You get personal service, every visit. I work with you directly, never a sub-contractor.
- You want to bundle several issues into a single visit. For example, “my Netflix account isn’t connecting and these door handles need to be tightened.” I can often knock out multiple problems in one visit.
- I have a background in technology, and understand how frustrating modern gadgets can be. I work with you to understand and resolve your technology problems – patiently and with simple explanations.
- I believe in doing things right. Since Covid the quality of service, especially around home maintenance and construction, has diminished significantly. I find this especially bothersome, so I strive to deliver communicative, high-quality service that leaves customers feeling satisfied, not frustrated.
- I’m fully insured and can provide a clear police background check.

About Bits & Bolts
About the owner and operator
I live in South Ottawa with my wife, dog, and cat. We’ve lived all over: Toronto, Vancouver, Hamilton, and now the NCR. I spent more years than a human should sitting on my duff behind a computer screen, but now spend my time helping seniors with their technology and home maintenance needs. Prior to Bits & Bolts, I worked in software design, bicycle repair, house painting, seafood sales, and was a garbage man (oddly one of my favourite jobs). I’m a big fan of animals so if you have dogs or cats I’d love to meet them.
