Tech Help for Seniors in Ottawa
I'm Geoff and I help seniors with computers, phones, tablets, printers, Wi-Fi, and televisions. I work at your pace and explain things in plain English. No techno jargon. I'm fully insured and can provide a clear police background check upon request.

What I Help With
- Phones and tablets: setup, moving everything over from an old phone, making the text bigger, adding contacts, clearing storage warnings
- Computers: slow machines, updates, printing, getting files off an old computer
- Wi-Fi: trouble connecting, connecting a new device
- Television and streaming: Netflix, YouTube, Prime, Disney+, and working out which remote does what
- Video calls: Zoom, FaceTime, WhatsApp
- Printers: Troubleshooting printing problems, replacing ink, installing drivers
- And more!
If it plugs in and it's frustrating you, I can help.
I Do Handyman Work Too
Most tech help services in Ottawa only do tech. I do both, so the printer and the loose door handle can be the same visit.
Customers often save up a list. The printer won't connect and the smoke detector is chirping. One appointment covers both. That costs you less, and it means one person in your house rather than two strangers over two afternoons.
Arranging Tech Support for an Aging Parent in Ottawa
I know how hard it can be to assist an aging parent with technology problems when you're not in the same room. I can be your eyes and ears in these situations: I visit your mom or dad on site, diagnose the problem, fix it, help them understand how to avoid the problem in the future, and report back to you.
I'm insured, and I'll send you the police background check before the visit. I'm the one who shows up, never a subcontractor.
Common Questions
Do you help with both Apple and Android devices?
Yes. I work with Apple (iPhone, iPad, Mac), Android phones and tablets, and Windows computers. Whatever you have, I can help with it.
Are you insured, and can you provide a background check?
Yes. I'm fully insured, and I'll provide a clear police background check on request. I'm the one who shows up to every visit, never a subcontractor.
What does the first visit cost?
A visit of up to two hours is $125. After that it’s $60 an hour plus tax. Anything expected to run over five hours gets a flat quote before I start, so there are no surprises.
Do you come to my home, and which parts of Ottawa do you cover?
Yes, all the work is done in your home. I cover Ottawa and surrounding areas including Nepean, Westboro, Carlingwood, Britannia, Barrhaven, Riverside South, Alta Vista, and Hunt Club.
I'm arranging this for a parent in Ottawa. Can we handle payment and updates remotely?
Absolutely. A lot of my calls come from sons and daughters, sometimes from another province. You can arrange and pay for the visit, and if your parent is happy for me to, I'll phone you afterward to tell you what I found.
What if you can't fix the problem?
I'll tell you honestly. I'll also tell you when a computer doesn't need replacing, which happens more often than you'd think. You only pay for the time I'm there.
